The queen of sci-fi, Rebecca Ferguson, has had a mixed year so far. She began 2026 with the critically panned "screenlife" movie Mercy, headlined by Chris Pratt. The film failed to recoup its reported $60 million budget at the box office, but emerged as a solid hit on Prime Video despite poor reviews. Ferguson followed it up with the fourth season of her widely acclaimed Apple TV series Silo, which holds a "Certified Fresh" 96% score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. She'll finish the year by reprising her role as Lady Jessica in the hotly anticipated Dune: Part Three, directed by Denis Villeneuve. This month, Ferguson's fans can revisit one of her most overlooked gems, which was recently added to the Paramount+ library.

The movie in question debuted amid substantial buzz in 2019, positioned as the next major horror title after the record-smashing It and its sequel, It: Chapter Two. Like that blockbuster duology, which grossed more than $1 billion worldwide, Ferguson's 2019 movie was based on a book by Stephen King. It cast a wider net by being a legacy sequel to the horror masterpiece The Shining, which King famously detests. However, the movie underperformed at the box office despite having received mostly positive reviews, and seems destined to become one of the most beloved cult classics of the 2010s.
