Best known for his multi-time Emmy-winning role in Game of Thrones, Peter Dinklage has a forgotten project from the last few years finding new life on streaming. Dinklage may have left the Lannister family behind like all of his Game of Thrones co-stars, but fans can still see him turning up in popular movies and TV shows every year. Back in 2025, Dinklage returned to form in the TV world by starring opposite Michael C. Hall in one of the highest-rated shows of the year, Dexter: Resurrection. He will not return in Season 2 of the show later this month, but he's been replaced by a pair of all-time greats in Dan Stevens and Brian Cox. With four Emmys under his belt, Dinklage isn't expected to disappear as a prominent on-screen actor anytime soon.

Like many actors who have attracted an overwhelming amount of attention for just one role, Peter Dinklage also stars in some projects that the lion's share of people have never heard of. More likely than not, one of Dinklage's projects that flew under the radar for many viewers is The Thicket, the 2024 Western crime thriller co-starring Juliette Lewis and Levon Hawke. The movie was a Tubi original, so the only way to watch it when it premiered in 2024 would have been through the popular free streaming service. While not many people may have watched The Thicket when it first premiered, the film has been finding new life on Netflix as one of the top 10 most-watched movies in the world during the last week. It's even outperforming Tom Cruise's 2022 blockbuster, Top Gun: Maverick.

What Is 'The Thicket' About?

The Thicket is based on the novel of the same name by Joe R. Lansdale, and Chris Kelly adapted the script with Elliott Lester stepping behind the camera to direct. Those who don't have a Netflix subscription and are uninterested in watching the movie for free on Tubi can also check it out streaming on Prime Video. The official synopsis for The Thicket, which holds solid scores of 80% from critics and 78% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, reads as follows:

“When fierce bounty hunter Reginald Jones (Peter Dinklage) is recruited by a desperate man to track down a ruthless killer known only as Cutthroat Bill (Juliette Lewis), he rallies a band of unlikely heroes including a grave-digging ex-slave and a street-smart woman-for-hire. Together they embark on a perilous quest to track down Cutthroat Bill that leads them into the deadly "no-man's-land" known as...The Thicket.”
