Hogwarts isn't quite ready to open its doors, but anyone wanting an early look at the chemistry between its new Harry Potter and Hagrid doesn't have to wait until December. Dominic McLaughlin and Nick Frost will soon inherit two of the Wizarding World's most recognizable roles, but another project featuring both actors has officially arrived on streaming first.

The pair can now be seen together in Grow, the award-winning family comedy that is streaming now on Peacock in the United States. Its October 1 arrival comes two months before HBO's Harry Potter series is due to introduce McLaughlin as Harry and Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, offering audiences an unusually well-timed preview of two members of the new Hogwarts ensemble. The timing is particularly fortuitous, too, as the film was nominated today for Best Feature Film at the BAFTA Scotland Awards.

The official synopsis welcomes us to the pumpkin capital of the world, where the pumpkins are epic, the rivalries are fierce, and the competition is anything but garden variety. No-nonsense farmer Dinah Little reluctantly takes in her abandoned niece, Charlie. Dinah is not quick to affection, and Charlie is not one for sitting still, so Dinah puts her to work on the farm with sleeves rolled up and hands in the dirt. Then comes the town's biggest spectacle: its annual pumpkin-growing contest, a Halloween tradition filled with wild stunts, eccentric characters, and record-setting drama. Charlie has something no one else does: a special gift for connecting with plants that quietly reflects her own longing to feel seen and loved.

Who Stars in 'Grow'?

Golda Rosheuvel (Bridgerton) leads the cast as Dinah Little, alongside Priya-Rose Brookwell (The Lazarus Project) as Charlie. McLaughlin plays Charlie's friend Oliver Gregory, while Frost (Shaun of the Dead) stars as local grower Arlo. The supporting cast includes the likes of Tim McInnerny (Game of Thrones), Jane Horrocks (Absolutely Fabulous), Alan Carr (Changing Ends), Joe Wilkinson (After Life), Kathryn Drysdale (Bridgerton), Fisayo Akinade (Heartstopper), Sharon Rooney (Barbie), and Jeremy Swift (Ted Lasso).

McLaughlin and Frost will next be seen, ironically, in a pumpkin patch of their own outside Hagrid's hut on the grounds of Hogwarts. McLaughlin will lead HBO's Harry Potter as the Boy Who Lived, while Frost takes over the role of Hogwarts gamekeeper Hagrid, previously played by the late Robbie Coltrane across Warner Bros.' eight original movies.
