Kaitlyn Santa Juana survived Death’s latest design in Final Destination Bloodlines, but her next movie will force her to contend with a different kind of disaster: life on the road with a dysfunctional band. The rising horror star has joined an ensemble of familiar young actors for a new Canadian indie dramedy that promises strained relationships, uncomfortable silences, and enough early 2000s pop-punk to fill a battered touring van.
Described as Superbad meets Almost Famous, the upcoming movie follows a band racing toward the performance that could finally give its members their big break. Whether their friendships can survive long enough to reach the stage, however, is another question entirely. Collider can exclusively reveal the first images from The Jam Van, which recently wrapped principal photography in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and is now heading into post-production. Santa Juana leads the cast alongside Ginny & Georgia star Nikki Roumel, Maclean Fish of Little House on the Prairie, My Secret Santa’s Madison MacIsaac, Clown in a Cornfield's Cassandra Potenza, and High School’s Dom Bergeron. Kaitlyn Santa Juana Leads ‘The Jam Van’
Written by Peter Roumeliotis and Alec Carlos, The Jam Van marks Carlos’ feature directorial debut and follows a dysfunctional pop-punk band navigating long roads, even longer silences, and increasingly messy relationships on its way to what could be its big break or its last show together. The supporting cast includes Shoresy actor Ryan McDonell, Locke & Key star Jesse Camacho, and Stephanie Sy of Netflix’s FUBAR. Music will naturally play an essential role in bringing the fictional band and its chaotic journey to life. Roumeliotis, who co-wrote the movie, will also serve as its music supervisor, with the featured music taking inspiration from early 2000s pop-punk bands including Fall Out Boy, Paramore, and blink-182. Blitz//Berlin, whose credits include the 2025 Silent Night, Deadly Night reboot, is attached to compose the score.
Santa Juana is also producing the movie alongside Jordan Connor, Helen Roumeliotis, Peter Roumeliotis, Kyle Guerrero, and Carlos, while Allen Roman and Mike Ng serve as executive producers. The Jam Van is the fifth feature film produced under the Popternative Pictures banner, joining The Cure, starring Late Night With the Devil and The Suicide Squad actor David Dastmalchian, the Bigfoot thriller Sawtooth Mountain, and the upcoming drama Sometimes I Believe in Ghosts, led by Brenna D’Amico.
A release date for The Jam Van has not yet been announced. Stay tuned at Collider for more!
