Any list of the year's most successful box-office stars will likely include Tom Holland, Zendaya and Anne Hathaway, not to mention Robert Pattinson. But another actor has found success in both theaters and streaming. In fact, he also made his Broadway debut this year. We're talking about Jon Bernthal, who played pivotal supporting parts in Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey, and opened the year with the blockbuster Netflix limited series His & Hers and the Disney+ spin-off The Punisher: One Last Kill. The eight-part mystery was briefly among Netflix's all-time most-watched shows before being overtaken by I Will Find You. Bernthal is also enjoying the continued success of his 2025 release The Accountant 2, along with another fan-favorite war movie originally released more than a decade ago.

That movie debuted to mostly positive reviews and solid box-office results in 2014. It also starred Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman and Michael Peña. It follows an American tank crew during the final weeks of World War II, as Allied forces push into enemy territory. The movie grossed more than $210 million worldwide against a reported budget of around $80 million. While reviews were encouraging — it now holds a "Certified Fresh" 75% score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes — the movie found an even bigger following after its home-video release. It remains a fan favorite all these years later.
