Tom Hardy fans have a lot to be excited about this week with the return of his hit Paramount Plus crime thriller show, but another of his most famous projects is taking flight on streaming. Hardy is set to reprise his role as Harry Da Souza in MobLand Season 2 this week, and while the tensions have since smoothed over, the show has been under the microscope this year after several bouts of controversy. It was reported much earlier in the summer that Hardy had been fired from the show due to a rift that had formed between him and one of the producers, but as his Season 2 scenes had already been filmed, he was still going to appear in the show. This has since been debunked, and Paramount has confirmed that Hardy will be back in Season 3.

Hardy has carved out a name for himself as one of the most bankable action stars in the world, and while he’s never won an Oscar, he has been nominated once in his career. Hardy earned an Oscar nod back in 2015 for his performance in The Revenant, but this has been somewhat overshadowed by Leonardo DiCaprio’s performance in the film, who won his first and only ever Oscar for his work in the sprawling epic Western. 11 years after The Revenant hit theaters, the film has found a home streaming on HBO Max in America, where it’s approaching 50 days in the top 10. The Revenant has clung to a spot in the HBO Max top 10 for 43 days now, and with it yet to fall to one of the bottom three spots, it looks poised to cruise past the coveted 50-day milestone in the next week.

What Is ‘The Revenant’ About?

The official synopsis for The Revenant, which holds strong marks of 78% from critics and 84% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, reads as follows: “While exploring the uncharted wilderness in 1823, frontiersman Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) sustains life-threatening injuries from a brutal bear attack. When a member (Tom Hardy) of his hunting team kills his young son (Forrest Goodluck) and leaves him for dead, Glass must utilize his survival skills to find a way back to civilization. Grief-stricken and fueled by vengeance, the legendary fur trapper treks through the snowy terrain to track down the man who betrayed him.” The Revenant was directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu, who also directed the new Tom Cruise movie, Digger, which hits theaters in just a few weeks.
