Theo James is coming up in the Hollywood world as one of the most bankable and entertaining action stars in the world. A few years ago, James starred in the second season of The White Lotus alongside Aubrey Plaza, and last year, he teamed up with Longlegs director Osgood Perkins for The Monkey, the hit horror thriller co-starring Tatiana Maslany. Long before The White Lotus and The Monkey, though, James starred as Four in one of the most underrated sci-fi trilogies of the 2010s: Divergent. James led three Divergent films in 2014, 2015, and 2016 — if there was ever an indication that the movies came out of a different era, it’s almost unheard of these days for three big-budget sci-fi movies to come out three years in a row.

In recent years, James has also been busy with other roles, including voicing Bastion in Marvel’s hit animated series, X-Men ‘97. He’s also the centerpiece of Guy Ritchie’s intensely underrated crime drama on Netflix, The Gentlemen, which is still one of the top 10 most-watched shows in the world. Between his work on X-Men ‘97 and The Gentlemen Season 2, though, James starred in one of the most underrated action thrillers of 2026 that’s finally getting its due on streaming. James stars alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kraven the Hunter) and Sam Worthington (Avatar: Fire and Ash) in the film, which has been one of the top 10 most-watched movies in America on HBO Max for over a week now. Over on the VOD platform Apple TV, Fuze has been in the top 10 for over 100 days now, making it one of the few streaming hits of the year to cross 100 days on watchlists.

What Is ‘Fuze’ About?

The official synopsis for Fuze, which holds scores of 72% from critics and 78% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, reads as follows: “Set in contemporary London, Fuze unfolds after an unexploded World War II bomb is unearthed at a busy construction site, forcing a massive citywide evacuation. Amid the escalating tension and chaos, a daring criminal operation is set in motion — one that uses the evacuation as cover for a meticulously planned heist. As authorities race against time to contain the crisis, alliances blur and moral boundaries are crossed, the film deftly propels audiences through a series of calculated twists delivering a wildly entertaining ride.” Ben Hopkins wrote the script for Fuze, and David Mackenzie directed the film. Mackenzie is also famous for directing Taylor Sheridan’s Hell or High Water.
