Not only is Taylor Sheridan enjoying the successful third-season run of his spy thriller series Lioness, but he can also expect continued success with the release of the second season of Marshals this week. This will be followed by the fourth season debut of Tulsa King, which will lead into a new spin-off, titled Frisco King. Further up the horizon is the third season of Landman. So much for Sheridan's exit strategy from Paramount. The mogul is set to begin a new creative partnership with NBCUniversal, but is clearly still keeping the fires burning at his longtime streaming home. Meanwhile, as he also attempts to return to the big screen, Sheridan's most recent movie as director is finding a new life over on Netflix.

The movie was a part of Warner Bros.' ill-fated "Project Popcorn," which saw every movie on its 2021 slate being released simultaneously on the HBO Max streaming service and in theaters. This led to the box-office underperformance of major movies such as The Matrix Resurrections, The Suicide Squad, and Sheridan's neo-Western, which grossed $19 million. The movie in question came on the heels of Sheridan's acclaimed American Frontier trilogy, comprising Sicario, Hell or High Water, and Wind River. While the W.B. movie wasn't as well-received as any of those earlier titles, it was retroactively resurrected by Sheridan's loyal fanbase.
