‘Dune: Part Three’ Officially Reveals Anya Taylor-Joy Ahead of December Release

2026 has been the year of Anya Taylor-Joy so far, and when historians look back at her career in the future, it will undoubtedly be viewed as one of the more productive years of any star’s career. For Taylor-Joy’s opening act, she starred in one of the highest-grossing movies of the year, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which was also the first feature film of 2026 to reach $1 billion at the global box office. Taylor-Joy also returned to TV to star opposite Timothy Olyphant in Lucky, the hit crime thriller series that still has not been renewed for Season 2. Part of what made her return to the platform so exciting is that she previously starred in one of the most-watched movies on Apple TV, The Gorge, along with Miles Teller from Top Gun: Maverick.

In addition to starring in the new Netflix movie, Sacrifice (co-starring Chris Evans), which is now streaming on platforms around the world, Taylor-Joy still has more to offer before the end of the year. On December 18, Taylor-Joy will return to Arrakis to star opposite Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya in Dune: Part Three, which is opening on the same day as Avengers: Doomsday. Earlier this week, with Dune: Part Three now almost exactly two months away, a new image of Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides in the film was released, teasing her role in the new sci-fi blockbuster. In the new image from Empire Magazine, which can be found here, Taylor-Joy’s Alia Atreides can be seen sitting beside her brother Paul on the Emperor’s throne, teasing that she will be one of the most important characters of the trilogy-capping sci-fi epic.

Who Else Stars in ‘Dune: Part Three’?

Returning to star alongside Anya Taylor-Joy, Timothée Chalamet, and Zendaya in Dune: Part Three are Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, and Javier Bardem as Stilgar. Though he did not return in Dune: Part Two, Jason Momoa is also back in Dune 3 as Hayt, a clone of Duncan Idaho. Robert Pattinson has joined the cast of Dune: Part Three as the villainous Scytale, further cementing what has already been a career year for the star. Pattinson and his Dune 3 co-star Zendaya already worked together earlier in the year on other movies such as The Drama and The Odyssey.
