Jason Statham is a fella whose name has become synonymous with no-nonsense heroes, elaborate shootouts, and dealing with people who've made the silly mistake of p*ssing him off. And the one man who's always known how to get the best out of those particular circumstances? That would be Guy Ritchie, with hits like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch, but their 2021 reunion took their partnership somewhere considerably darker.

Five years later, Wrath of Man remains one of the pair’s biggest latter-day successes. The movie previously enjoyed another surge in popularity after arriving on Prime Video in the United States. Wrath of Man follows Patrick Hill, better known simply as H. Mysterious and wild-eyed, a new security guard for a cash truck surprises his co-workers when he unleashes precision skills during a heist. The crew is left wondering who he is and where he came from. Soon, the marksman's ultimate motive becomes clear as he takes dramatic and irrevocable steps to settle a score.

The cast is led by Statham (The Transporter) as H, with Holt McCallany (Mindhunter) as Bullet, Josh Hartnett (Oppenheimer) as Boy Sweat Dave, Jeffrey Donovan (Burn Notice) as Jackson, Scott Eastwood (Suicide Squad) as Jan, Laz Alonso (The Boys) as Carlos, Niamh Algar (The Virtues) as Dana, and Eddie Marsan (Ray Donovan) as Terry.

‘Wrath of Man’ Was a Hit With Audiences

With a modest $40 million budget, Wrath of Man cracked $100 million globally, outperforming expectations and cementing itself as the most successful Ritchie-Statham collaboration to date. And while reviews were mixed — the film holds a 67% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes — fans were all in. It currently boasts a 90% audience score, with praise focused on its tension, structure, and the duo’s gritty chemistry. “Wrestling just enough stakes out of its thin plot, Wrath of Man sees Guy Ritchie and Jason Statham reunite for a fun, action-packed ride,” reads the official critics’ consensus on Rotten Tomatoes.

Meanwhile, Statham has remained box office gold, bouncing from one hit to another. He led Meg 2: The Trench to nearly $400 million worldwide, returned in Fast X (which grossed over $700 million), and headlined two successful action films (The Beekeeper and A Working Man) that collectively earned $250 million.

Wrath of Man is streaming on Prime Video now.
