It's been a hugely busy year for Robert Pattinson. Earlier in 2026, Pattinson starred alongside Spider-Man: Brand New Day's Zendaya in The Drama, one of the most underrated gems of the past few months. Then his attention turned to a brilliantly wicked performance in Christopher Nolan's ambitious adaptation of Homer's ancient Greek epic The Odyssey, also alongside Zendaya and many more famous Hollywood faces.
Then came his most controversial film of the year, A24's Primetime, which explores the legacy of NBC’s To Catch a Predator series, with Pattinson portraying host Chris Hansen. But throughout all of this, with Pattinson having one of the best years of his career so far, thoughts simply can't turn from The Batman Part II, as fans wait patiently for updates on Pattinson's return as the Caped Crusader. Recently, it was confirmed that production on the project had been paused again, as director Matt Reeves stepped away from the production due to a personal matter.
"Production on The Batman Part II has been temporarily paused while Matt Reeves focuses on a family matter," the studio's statement read. "Matt has the full support of DC Studios, and we look forward to continuing the journey soon." With no end in sight to the delay just yet, fans have been both wishing for the well-being of Reeves and his family, as well as searching for updates on the production's future. Now, Pattinson has broken his silence, telling Official Pop Drop during a promotion for Primetime, "Yeah, we’re pausing for a little bit, and then we’re going to figure it all out."
Robert Pattinson Will Return to the Big Screen in Two Months
Just when his year couldn't get any more impressive, arguably the biggest film for Pattinson in 2026 still awaits. Back again alongside Zendaya, Dune: Part Three will see Pattinson feature in the final installment in Denis Villeneuve's acclaimed adaptation of Frank Herbert's Dune novels. The film is sure to be a massive hit, and will likely to contribute to the biggest single day in theatrical ticket sales in many years, with the third Dune movie scheduled to be released on December 18, the same date as Avengers: Doomsday.
