'Sense and Sensibility' Is Officially Rewriting Romance

The last few years have been essential in the ever-blossoming career of Daisy Edgar-Jones, who is best known for her role as Olivia in Cold Feet. Around the time that Cold Feet was going off the air, Edgar-Jones further established herself as a star thanks to her role as Emily in Netflix's War of the Worlds series. She's also famous for her roles as Cassie in Pond Life and Marianne in Normal People. Back in 2024, Edgar-Jones stole the show starring opposite Glen Powell in Twisters, which was one of the most successful movies of the summer, grossing over $370 million at the global box office. She's returning to the screen in just a few weeks for an adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility, which hits theaters on October 16.

Before Sense and Sensibility hits theaters on October 16, the film is getting a brand-new, interactive release that's bringing back the lost art of sending a letter. This afternoon, Focus Features announced that SenseandSensibilityLetters.com is now live, and it provides fans with an opportunity to write a letter and either send a physical copy to a recipient, or simply have their letter anonymously displayed for others to read. Inspired by the iconic Dashwood sisters, who will be played by Edgar-Jones, Esmé Creed-Miles, and Bodi Rae Breathnach, this new experience gives fans a chance to voice the feelings they've been keeping to themselves. Each letter will be sent out on custom Sense and Sensibility stationary, which includes a branded wax seal sticker and even a branded bookmark. Participants can also opt in to receive the letter Colonel Brandon sends to Elinor Dashwood in the film.

What Else Do We Know About the New 'Sense and Sensibility' Movie?

The ensemble cast for Sense and Sensibility consists of Daisy Edgar-Jones, Esmé Creed-Miles, Caitríona Balfe, Bodhi Rae Breathnach, Frank Dillane, Herbert Nordrum, with George MacKay and Fiona Shaw. Fans may recognize Balfe from her role in the Starz fantasy series, Outlander. Georgia Oakley directed Sense and Sensibility with a script from Diana Reid, and the film was produced by TIm Bevan, Eric Fellner, India Flint, and Jo Wallett. The official synopsis reads as follows:
