Robert Pattinson's Twilight Trilogy Dominates Peacock Streaming Charts

All eyes have been on Robert Pattinson lately. Ever since a scene of his in The Odyssey went viral, and with anticipation building for his next appearance in the A24 film Primetime, where he plays Chris Hansen, people have noticed how his career has grown since it began. As a result, his earlier work has reached a new audience as it becomes a streaming hit.

Pattinson's career began in 2004, when he had a small role in Vanity Fair, and since then, he has appeared in many major franchises, like Harry Potter, where he played Cedric Diggory, The Batman as Bruce Wayne, and will be playing Scytale in Dune: Part Three, set to come out this December. Alongside those major roles, he also appeared in a range of indie films. But whenever people talk about Pattinson's career, one franchise comes to mind.

One of Pattinson's breakout roles was Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga, and it recently resurfaced on the streaming charts. Twilight, New Moon, and Breaking Dawn - Part 1 placed at #1, #3, and #5, respectively, on Peacock's Top 10 Movies in the United States, with The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie and Over the Hedge sitting between the three films. The Twilight Saga was one of the biggest fantasy-romance franchises of the 2000s, based on the book series of the same name by Stephenie Meyer. Five movies were released between 2008 and 2012 and generated over $3.346 billion worldwide.

What Is 'The Twilight Saga' About?

The Twilight Saga follows a teenage girl named Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), who falls in love with a vampire named Edward Cullen (Pattinson) after moving from Phoenix, Arizona, to Forks, Washington. But her relationship with a vampire has put her at risk. Additionally, Bella enters a love triangle between Edward and her friend Jacob (Taylor Lautner), who's a werewolf. In the second installment, New Moon, her status as a human was discovered by the Volturi, a powerful Vampire Coven that rules over the vampire world. Because of this, Bella has to become a vampire, which she does in Breaking Dawn after her high school graduation and marriage to Edward. The Twilight Saga was a massive phenomenon, and in 2018, it experienced a renaissance as people began revisiting the franchise. Because of its newfound popularity, Meyer released a new book called Midnight Sun, which told the original Twilight story from Edward Cullen's perspective.
