Robert Pattinson's 'Twilight' Returns to Netflix Ahead of Reboot

Spooky season is almost here, and apparently that means it’s time to start arguing about Team Edward and Team Jacob all over again. Robert Pattinson may have spent the years since Twilight proving he can do basically whatever he wants on screen, but Edward Cullen isn’t staying buried. Nope, like the Cullen family themselves, this franchise is immortal and it's about to return to us.

Nearly twenty years since we went to Forks, Washington, and amid a spell of great nostalgia and fondness for the franchise that started his career, Pattinson's breakthrough role as Edward Cullen is getting revisited in news that's sure to utterly enrapture fans.

All five movies in The Twilight Saga will begin streaming on Netflix on October 1, meaning Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 will all be available for one very sparkly Halloween marathon.

Based on Stephenie Meyer‘s bestselling novel, Twilight follows Bella Swan after she moves to the permanently overcast town of Forks, Washington, and becomes fascinated by the mysterious, sullen, miserable, melancholic Edward Cullen. There’s just the small matter of Edward being a vampire, which probably should have been a bigger red flag than Bella ultimately considered it.

The cast is led by Kristen Stewart (Spencer) as Bella Swan and Pattinson (The Batman) as Edward Cullen, alongside Taylor Lautner (Scream Queens) as Jacob Black, Billy Burke (Revolution) as Charlie Swan, Peter Facinelli (Nurse Jackie) as Carlisle Cullen, Ashley Greene (Bombshell) as Alice Cullen, Kellan Lutz (The Expendables 3) as Emmett Cullen, and Nikki Reed (Thirteen) as Rosalie Hale.

Together, the five movies earned more than $3.3 billion at the worldwide box office, while Meyer’s books have sold more than 160 million copies worldwide and been translated into 49 languages. Lionsgate is also developing a television adaptation of Meyer’s Midnight Sun, which retells the events of the original Twilight from Edward’s perspective, for Netflix. Hopefully that one is slightly more uplifting that Edward's century-long misery at being whatever the hell he ended up as.
