Pierce Brosnan recently returned with the hotly anticipated second season of the hit Paramount+ crime drama series MobLand, which features him as a particularly nasty character. Brosnan delivers a famously broad performance in the show, but audiences who prefer watching him in a more familiar setting may want to check out a spy thriller that he starred in 14 years ago. The movie in question features another veteran of the James Bond franchise, Olga Kurylenko, and it is currently witnessing something of a resurgence on streaming as Brosnan's MobLand rules over the global Paramount+ viewership charts.

The spy thriller was directed by Roger Donaldson, who also directed Brosnan in the disaster movie Dante's Peak, and worked with Jason Statham on the remake of The Bank Job. Donaldson previously dabbled in the spy thriller genre with the Al Pacino and Colin Farrell-led The Recruit, which grossed around $100 million in 2003. You could be forgiven for assuming that Donaldson and Brosnan worked on a Bond movie together in the 1990s. While that never happened, their 2014 thriller is the closest Brosnan has come to revisiting his Bond era.
