With Josh Hartnett gearing up to enter his Netflix era this October, one of his earliest blockbuster films will be added to the platform as a companion piece. Hartnett spent several years away from the limelight before his career had a resurgence, with prominent roles in M. Night Shyamalan's Trap, Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer, and a recurring role in FX's The Bear. October is set to be a major month for the star; not only does he have the Netflix limited series Below lined up, but he will also star alongside Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson in Verity. Younger audiences who may be interested in checking out his back catalog will find his 2001 blockbuster on Netflix.
Hartnett was among the biggest stars of his generation at the time, with Ridley Scott's Black Hawk Down being released that same year. He is also among an elite group of actors who were considered for both Batman and Superman. He was in his 20s, and earmarked as Leonardo DiCaprio's successor. However, he slowed down following an initial burst of success, and returned to prominence only in the 2020s. His star-making turn in the 2001 World War II movie directed by Michael Bay remains memorable, and audiences can experience it for themselves this October.
