Jon Bernthal’s 100-Minute Taylor Sheridan Western Is Officially Taking Over Netflix

Jon Bernthal is having an elite year in 2026 after adding more than $3 billion to his career box office total, but one of his more overlooked films is finally getting its due on the world’s biggest streaming service. Bernthal’s year began with a heavier TV focus, including major shows on Netflix and Hulu such as His & Hers and The Bear, but it was not until July that he arrived as a force on the big screen. He made his Christopher Nolan debut in The Odyssey before reuniting with Tom Holland only two weeks later in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is one of the few movies in history to gross over $2 billion at the global box office. The success of The Odyssey and Spider-Man 4 is prompting fans to seek out Bernthal’s older movies, leading to a wave of streaming resurgences for the star across platforms.

One of the most underrated films of Bernthal’s career arrived in 2021, when he starred in the fiery Taylor Sheridan-written and directed Western Those Who Wish Me Dead. Angelina Jolie leads the thriller, while Bernthal is one of the main supporting characters. Five years after Those Who Wish Me Dead grossed only $19 million at the box office, the film has found a streaming home on Netflix this month and has quietly become one of the top 10 most-watched titles on the platform in America.
