With two movies jostling for the title of Johnny Depp's studio comeback vehicle, audiences might be interested in revisiting some of the disgraced star's past work, especially since he has largely been boycotted by Hollywood for a decade. This holiday season, Depp will headline the new A Christmas Carol adaptation, Ebenezer, directed by Ti West. The movie has reportedly been testing through the roof, with praise being directed at Depp's trademark quirky performance. Next year, he'll star in the John Wick-meets-Blade action-thriller Day Drinker, which will be released in March. Another genre thriller starring prime-era Depp is currently streaming for free in the United States, serving as a perfect lead-in to his upcoming films.

However, the cult classic thriller is going to be removed from its streaming home soon. It was released in 2001, before Depp became one of the biggest box-office draws in the world thanks to the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. He had, however, starred in a string of Tim Burton-directed hits that played to his strengths, and culminated with the box-office success of Sleepy Hollow in 1999. Depp and Burton would top themselves with Alice in Wonderland, but that film was still around a decade away. Depp's 2001 movie was directed by the Hughes Brothers and based on a comic book by the legendary Alan Moore and artist Eddie Campbell.
