While Diablo 5's announcement was the most shocking reveal of BlizzCon 2026, it's not an indication that support for Diablo 4 is ending anytime soon. In fact, Blizzard's action RPG is being ported to a new platform, and a fan-favorite class from Diablo 2 is making its way into Diablo 4.
Diablo 4 will also get a major new season that will offer a playable look back at the franchise's history.
The Amazon returns to Diablo
A new class pack is coming to Diablo 4 during the first half of 2027. It'll add the Amazon class, which hasn't been seen since Diablo 2. They are a fast and precise character class that wields a bow and brings the Javelin weapon type to Diablo 4 for the first time.
Diablo 4 currently has eight playable classes. The game launched in 2023 with five classes (Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Rogue, and Sorcerer), and Blizzard added three more (Spiritborn, Paladin, and Warlock) across Diablo 4's two expansions.
Season of Hell's Legacy
Blizzard unveiled the Season of Hell's Legacy for Diablo 4 during BlizzCon 2026's Opening Ceremony. The season is meant to serve as a greatest hits for the franchise, as 2026 is Diablo's 30th anniversary. Enemies, locations, and items from previous Diablo games, including the franchise's namesake, will pop up in this new season, which begins on Sept. 15.
There's a crossover with The Witcher franchise to look forward to as well.
Diablo 4 comes to Switch 2
To get players on board with the Season of Hell's Legacy and prepare them for the Amazon class' arrival, Diablo 4: The Age of Hatred Collection is coming to Nintendo Switch 2. The port was leaked months ago by Indonesia's game ratings board, while a report in August suggested a reveal was imminent. Fittingly, the port made its debut at BlizzCon.
The Switch 2 release will bundle Diablo 4 and its two expansions — Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred — together for Nintendo's hybrid system. The Age of Hatred Collection is playable at BlizzCon this year. It'll be out for everyone else on Sept. 15 alongside the new season.
Diablo 4 and its expansions are also available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
