Google's Chrome browser is getting an update that will improve its autofill capabilities using AI. On Wednesday, the company said Chrome will get an advanced version of autofill that helps users fill out online forms with suggestions pulled from their Gmail.

That means Chrome could suggest things you might need to know, like a flight confirmation number, membership ID, tracking information, order number, address, phone number or credit card number, by referencing your email.

The update is an expansion of Google's Personal Intelligence, which already lets users connect their Google Apps to its AI assistant, Gemini, to retrieve certain details and then use them to answer complex questions.

Though seemingly minor, the update could make Chrome easier to use, which could give users another reason to keep using Google's browser and stay in its AI ecosystem. It's reminiscent of one of Apple's most appreciated features: the ability to automatically detect verification codes sent via text and display them above the keyboard, letting users enter them with a single tap.

As with other Personal Intelligence features, users can decide from their Chrome settings whether to enable enhanced autofill. Google notes that sensitive data is encrypted.

The feature is rolling out to U.S. users on desktop, and in the iOS and Android apps for Gemini in Chrome.
