It's not long before Brad Pitt reprises one of his best-loved characters, one that earned him the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth is a standalone sequel to Quentin Tarantino's 2019 masterpiece Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, this time only written by Tarantino. Taking over directing duties is David Fincher, who famously directed Pitt in the classics Se7en and Fight Club. The movie will first be released exclusively in IMAX on November 25, before moving to Netflix on December 23, marking one last hoorah between Fincher and the streamer.
Pitt has been quietly successful over recent years, having been part of some of the most exciting projects in both theaters and on streaming. However, there is no doubt that his most notable hit of this decade so far came last summer, when he took to the wheel in director Joseph Kosinski's fast-paced blockbuster F1. By scoring a $633 million box office haul worldwide against a budget reported to range between $200 million and $300 million, the film made history as Apple Original Film's highest-grossing theatrical release of all time.
F1 also surprised many by becoming popular with the Academy. At the 98th ceremony earlier this year, the film was nominated in four categories, including earning a nod in the coveted Best Picture category. F1 won the Best Sound prize, which many had predicted way back when the film first hit theaters. Over a year later, Kosinski's blockbuster is still a massive hit for Apple. At the time of writing, F1 has raced past the 300-day mark on the Apple TV top ten in the U.S.
Brad Pitt Is Currently Back in Theaters
Over a year on from making history at the 2025 box office, the ever-popular Pitt is back in theaters with his latest project, ahead of The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth. Heart of the Beast — a survival thriller starring Pitt alongside one of the best furry, four-legged performances you'll ever see from six-year-old German Shepherd Uber — has now been in theaters for three weekends and turned a reported $82 million budget into $131 million worldwide. The film is directed by David Ayer and also features Anna Lambe and Oscar-winner J.K. Simmons.
