Hollywood icon Brad Pitt is one of the faces of Apple TV, thanks to his major summer 2025 blockbuster that is, without doubt, the streamer's biggest film yet. Pitt starred as former racer Sonny Hayes, who returns to the track to try to save his friend's failing team, in Joseph Kosinski's fast-paced blockbuster F1. The film proved a major success at last year's summer box office, scoring a $633 million box office haul against a budget reportedly ranging between $200 million and $300 million, becoming Apple Original Film's highest-grossing theatrical release of all time in the process.
But F1 wasn't just a must-watch big-screen blockbuster; the film also hugely impressed critics who praised the movie's innovative, absorbing filmmaking style. F1 was nominated in four categories at this year's 98th Oscars, even earning a nod in the coveted Best Picture category. Pitt's highest-grossing lead role to date left the Oscars ceremony a winner too, taking home the Best Sound prize against some truly tough competition. F1 is Pitt's flagship performance on Apple TV, but it isn't his only film on the platform to prove popular.
At the time of writing, the Hollywood icon's 2013 war epic Fury is one of the ten most-streamed movies on Apple TV, and has surpassed the 50-day mark in the top ten. Directed by David Ayer, who is known for his work with Jason Statham, Fury tells the tale of an American tank crew as they fight in the last days of the war in Nazi Germany. A truly immersive war viewing experience that earned plenty of praise in 2013, Fury is well worth its place among Apple TV's best.
What Is Brad Pitt Making Next?
The consistent train of great Pitt performances is seemingly never going to stop, with the actor's next sure to be one of his best in recent memory. Released exclusively in IMAX on November 25, before moving to Netflix on December 23, The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth will see Pitt reprise a role that previously won him the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. A sequel to Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, the film is written by Tarantino and directed by David Fincher, who previously worked with Pitt on the likes of Se7en and Fight Club.
