Attack on Titan may have come to an end, but the beloved series will return on Dec. 9 with an all-new release. Dynasty Warriors developer Omega Force and publisher Koei Tecmo will release Attack on Titan 3 later this year, giving anime and manga fans a new way to experience the post-apocalyptic dark fantasy series.
It's the first new Attack on Titan game in over eight years, and the franchise's latest entry has the benefit of being able to adapt the entire manga, controversial ending and all. That said, you will make your way through the manga's events as a customizable original character, rather than Eren, Armin, or Mikasa.
The entire Attack on Titan story is being retold
According to the game's official description:
This title is a compilation of the Attack on Titan game series, allowing you to experience the story from its beginning to its conclusion. The game features brand-new story developments in addition to intense new battles against the Nine Titans, who make their first in-game appearance here. Memorable scenes from previous titles have also been rebuilt to offer a fresh experience.
Attack on Titan 3's official release date is Dec. 10, but PC gamers on Steam will get it one day early. Koei Tecmo opened pre-orders and unveiled a physical SteelBook edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition back in August. That Digital Deluxe Edition comes with cosmetic DLC, a digital art book, and 72 hours of early access to Attack on Titan 3 on every platform but Nintendo Switch 2. There will also be an in-game bonus for players who still have Attack on Titan 2 save data on their systems.
While all of those announcements should feel pretty substantial for Attack on Titan fans, it's disappointing that we have to wait all the way until December to check out the game.
Attack on Titan 3 is up against some other Japanese-developed competition in December, such Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. Attack on Titan 3 will be released on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X, likely making it one of the last AAA games to launch in a hectic fall 2026 for the video game industry.
