Ariana Grande continues her recent run as a Hollywood favorite by joining the cast of the latest legacy sequel to hit 2026 theaters. The pop star joins Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Teri Polo, Blythe Danner, Skyler Gisondo and Beanie Feldstein in Focker-in-Law, the long-awaited fourth film in the Fockers franchise. The film hits theaters on November 25, 2026, and follows Greg's son Henry as he introduces a strong-willed woman into the circle of trust.

Focker-in-Law is the second big project from Grande in 2026, as she debuted her latest album "Petal" this summer. Her first album in two years, "Petal" faced more backlash than any normal Grande project, due in no small part to the constant and often vicious public scrutiny she was under at the time. This was off the back of her career-defining double turn as Glinda in the Wicked movies, where extended press cycles kept Grande in the public eye, with her image and theatrical character the subject of much online discussion.

Sadly, the second half of the musical two-parter failed to live up to the impressive response to the first. Wicked: For Good was expected to make a splash at the Academy Awards, but the film was snubbed entirely after mixed reviews plagued its theatrical run. But this bar was set particularly high due to the sheer brilliance of the first film, which was the movie event of 2024. Two years on, Wicked is still a sensation. At the time of writing, Wicked is one of the ten most-watched movies on Prime Video in the world, a list currently topped by the new rom-com hit The Love Hypothesis.

How Much Did 'Wicked' Make at the Box Office?

Wicked was nominated for an impressive ten Academy Awards nominations, winning in the Best Costume Design and Best Production Design categories. But it was at the box office where it impressed the most. Against a reported budget of $145 million, the film earned a global total of $746 million at the box office, split between $473 million from domestic earnings and $273 million from overseas markets. In the process, the film became the highest-grossing stage-to-screen musical adaptation in history.
