After enjoying an unusually long theatrical window, Alan Ritchson's well-received new action movie will be released on the PVOD market this coming week. The movie marked yet another step into the mainstream for Angel Studios, an outfit that earned its stripes by catering to faith-based audiences for a number of years. Angel saw major box-office success in 2025 thanks to the animated movies The King of Kings and David, after delivering its breakout hit — a problematic action movie starring Jim Caviezel — in 2023. Angel's newfound mainstream ambitions aren't absolute; it has another faith-based title featuring Caviezel — Zero A.D.: The Birth of Christ — slated for release later this year.
The studio's new action movie retains the same core religious values that have defined its past releases, and Ritchson has already endeared himself to the demographic with the well-received movie Ordinary Angels. Released theatrically in 2025, the film emerged as a major Netflix hit some months ago. It holds a remarkable 99% audience score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. Ritchson's new action movie was widely embraced by fans as well. It currently stands at a "Verified Hot" 89% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Also featuring Owen Wilson, the movie follows an ex-soldier and a courier who must deliver a liver to a dying girl while being chased by a cartel.
